French and Indian War

The first blood of the war occured in 1754, but they did not officially declare war until May of 1756. The war had started because they were fighting over control of a lot of North America. Soon, arguements over frontier policy, and war expenses lead to dicontent, leading to the American Revolution. -
Stamp act

The American colonists were required to pay taxes on printed paper.They used the money from the stamp act to help pay for defending and protecting the American Frontier by the Appalachian mountains. The stamp act was allowed, issues arised causing colonists to fight 10 years later. -
Proclamation of 1763

The proclamation was set up to help with the Native Americans fears of westward expansion. Even George Washington didn't see it. He thought that the expansion was just anti-British sentiment leading up to the American Revolution. -
Townshend Acts

The Tea act was considered the final straw in many unpopular rules and taxes enforced by Britain of America. The tea act was the reason the Boston Tea party happened. The act was imposed because the British were deeply in debt, leading up to the American Revolution. -
Boston Tea Party

Intolerable Acts
Four of the acts were issued because of the Boston Tea Party. The British Parliament had hoped that these acts would help stop resistance to British authority, that had begun with the stamp act. The tension escalated, becoming one of the factors of the American revolutionary War. -

The Declaration of Independence

The three commonly known people there were, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Bejamin Franklin. They were told to write a formal statement of what the colonies wanted. The people during the American Revolution were fighting over different things. Some were similar to others but many wanted their own things. The Declaration of Independence was approved on July 4th 1776.
