    French and Indian war starts
    The French and the English both wanted control of the Ohio rive valley. The French currently had control of it and the Indians were their friends. The English tried to gain control of the valley by force and that's when it started.

    French and Indian war ends
    The English won the war. The French surrendered and England took over their land in present day Canada. The Indians on the French side were not very nice to the them during the war.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The king made this proclamation when he got the northern French territories. It prohibited settlement west of the Appalachian mountains. The Indians were not very friendly with the English.
  • Sugar act

    This is a modified version of the sugar and molasses act of 1733. The act made the tax 3 pence per gallon instead of 6 pence per gallon. They also enforced the collection of tax. It helped the growing movement that became the revolution by increasing the colonists concern of the British parliament.
  • Stamp act

    The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. The money collected was used to support the troops patrolling the Appalachian mountains border.

    The purpose of the Townshend acts is to raise revenue in the colonies to pay officials and judges. Then they would remain loyal to Britain. The taxes were unreasonably high.
  • Boston massacre

    It started as a riot of people throwing sticks, snowballs, and rocks. Then British soldiers came and killed alot of the people in the riot. There were about fifty people riot.

    This was the last straw in the series of events that Britain did to them. The tax was high and since they used tea a lot, Britain got a lot of money. This led to the Boston tea party.

    This is she some colonists disguised themselves as Indians. Then they get on the ship full of tea. They destroy the shipment of tea. The English lost a lot of money.
  • Intolerable acts

    They were a series of punitive laws passed by the parliament after the Boston tea party. They were used to punish the colonists for throwing the tea in the ocean. They are one of the reasons that led to the American Revolution.

    The Declaration of Independence said that the United States is free. It said that the us is its own country and able to make its own laws. It also said that they could stand their corrupt king no longer.
