  • Townshend Act

    A series of measures introduced into the English Parliment by Chancellor of the Exchequer Charles Townshend in 1767. The Townshend acts imposed duties on glass,lead,paints,paper and tea imported into the colonies.Townshend hoped that acts would defray imperial expenses in the Colonies
  • Boston Massacre

    Occurred on March 5,1770. British soldiers come to support a sentry who was being passed by a heckling,snowballing crowd let loose a volley of shots.
  • Tea act

    The tea act of 1773 was one of several measures imposed on the American colonist by the decade leading up to the Amarican revolution was(1775-83)The main purpose was not to raise revenue from the colonies but to bail out the floundering East India Compact
  • Boston tea Party

    This farmed act of American colonies defiance served as a protest against taxation. Seeking to boost the troubled east India company. British parliament adjust import duties with the passage of the tea act 1773
  • Intolerable acts

    Upset by the Boston tea party and other blatant act of destruction of British property by American colonist the British Parliment enacts the coercive acts to the outrage of American partitions on 1774
  • French & Indian War

    The war lasted from 1756 to 1763. forming a chapter in the imperial struggle between Britain and France. France's expansion into the Ohio river valley repeatedly brought it into conflict with the claims of the British colonies, especially Virginia.Though this period the British military effort was hampered by lack of interest at home.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    In 1763, at ethe end of French And Indian war, the British issued a proclamation. Mainly intended to conciliate the Indians by checking the encroachment of settlers on their land. In the countries since the proclamation it has become one of the cornerstones of Nativ Amerian Law in the United States and Canada
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act of 1765 was the first internal tax levied directly on America colonist by the British government. The act which imposed a tax on all paper documents in the colonies, came at time when the British Empire was deep in dept from the seven Years war (1756-63)and looking to its North American colonies as a revenue
