    Decemberist Revolt
    -3000 members of military staged an uprising against the newly-appointed Tsar Nicholas I.
    -A standoff between the rebels and about 9,000 loyal troops went on for hours.
    -When Tsar Nicholas I realized that a peaceful ending was impossible he sent out the calvary, When that failed he sent out the cannons and fired on the rebels.
    -The rebels retreated and went to regroup on the river, but the ice on the river gave out and they fell in the frozon water.

    - Soldiers who were armed blocked the palace and killed about 100 workers and injured about 300.
