  • Bloody Sunday

    Families and workers went to the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg to ask for better working conditoins and more freedom. Soldiers outside the palace were told to shoot the unarmed protesters. 500-1,000 people died.
  • WWI Begins

  • Rasputine was killed

    Rasputine was a man who claimed to have healing powers. After saving a young boy who had hemophilia, he was granted to make key political decisions. Due to this, he spread corruption throughout the royal court. Later, he was murdered by nobles who were worried about his role in government affairs getting larger.
  • February Revolution

    There was a shortage of food and fuel. There were riots from the citizens, and some soldiers started to join in the riots. Many soldiers refused to fire upon the rioters.
  • Lenin takes Power

    Lenin returnes to Russia after worrying about being arrested. The Bosheviks and Lenin believed that is was time to take over power. He gained control over the Petrograd soviets and other soviets in Russian cities.
  • Czar Nicholas II Abdicates to the Throne

    The people didn't want Nicholas to be part of the throne and were rioting. In 1917, he was forced to step down. After one year, him and his family were exicuted .
  • October Revolutoin

  • Civil War between Red Coats and White coats

    The Bolsheviks made up the red coats and their enimy made up the white coats. The white coats had a hard time working together because their only goal was to defeat the red coats.
  • Communist Party is Developed

    Bolshevik soldiers and workers seized government buildings. Their hope was to get Lenin to rule.
  • USSR is Established

    The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was created. It was ment to honor councles that helped the Bolshevik Revolutoin occur.
  • Stalin becomes Dictator

    When be became head of the government, Lenin was worried and didn't think that he could use his power for good. Stalin was a very cold hearted man and later became head of the communist party.
