    One of the most important decisions Alexander II had to make was whether or not to sign the Emancipation of Serfs. This would allow the serfs not only to be free, but they were given land. When Nicholas II left his wife in charge, it basically meant that Rasputin was in charge because of his relations with her, but his behavior wasn't liked by many people including important noblemen.
