    • 3,000 soldiers revolted Nicholas I's assumption of power
    • The sodliers had already swore allegiance to the presumed heir
    • The protesters were arrested and tried
  • Emancipation of the Serfs

    Emancipation of the Serfs
    • Serfs were peasents who were privately owned.
    • This was the first of the reforms of Serfdom.
    • This Emancipation created freedom for the Serfs, and formed equal rights as well.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    • Massacre in St. Petersburg, Russia.
    • Imperial Guards gunned down unarmed, peaceful protesters.
    • This event showed the world the immoral policies of the Russian governement.

    • Social & political unrest that expanded through much of the Russian Empire
    • Bloody Sunday was the start of this revolution
    • People revolted against the government in several ways, violently as well.

    • He was a peseant who claimed to have healing powers
    • His nickname was "The Mad Monk of Russia"
    • He resisted several attempts on his life, but eventually died from drowning.

    • Protesting against the Tsar was the main idea
    • A temporary government was established

    • He watched Russia go from a world super power to a collasping nation.
    • His nickname was Bloody Nicholas because of the many violent protests
    • After the February Revolution, his family and him were put in jail.

    • The whole royal family was murdered by the Bolsheviks
    • Many Russians were still loyal to them
    • Many rumors spread that Anastasia, the youngest daughter, survived

    • The treaty was between Germeny and the Allied Powers.
    • Germany still had bitter feelings about the Allied Forces.
  • Bolshevik Revolution

    Bolshevik Revolution
    The Bolshevik Revolution was when millions of people revolted against Czar Nicholas II, who dragged them into WWI. The people were injuried and were desperate for a revolution. In October, Lenin convinced the Bolshevik party to rebel against the Provisional Governement. They then took power and succuesfully gained control of Russia.

    • He founded the USSR
    • He also created the worlds first official socialist state

    • Stalin declared himself leader of the USSR
    • He became leader of Russia by consolidating his power base
    • He took over instead of Trotsky, who was leader of the Red Army

    • Russia joined the Allied Powers
