    Born on January 7th, 1999.
Being born is important to everyone, but I found importance to me in the date I was born on. Growing up, I liked my birthday being almost exactly two weeks after Christmas. They were far enough away for me to get a enough presents on each day but close enough to where I'd could save all the money and buy something expensive that I wanted. This also taught me how to save my money and make it last the majority of year, which is important to me.

I remember starting school liking it, which I think lead to me doing well in the longer term. I think that the first years of school are the most important because it will effect how you view your abilities later in life. Without trying so hard to do well in elementary school, I would have never learned the work ethic that would help me get where I am now.
  • Did good but not great throughout junior high school

Did good but not great throughout junior high school
Junior high was the time that I realized I was good at school but not at using my own time for school related activities. This was also the time in my life where I struggled with self-identity and didn't like who I was or what I looked like. I learned to love myself near the end, but only after years of struggling. What matters most is that I found how to make myself happy during this time before high school.
  • Decided to accept myself and who I am

Decided to accept myself and who I am
I accepted who I was near the end of junior high school, but it has taken years of high school to learn about myself and the advantages and disadvantages I have. While I am a naturally good at remembering facts and taking tests, I am quiet and reserved to the point where others do not understand my intentions.

Started public high school and did well for first two years
I started high school at a public school doing honors courses and trying my hardest, and did well for the first two years. It wasn't until junior year that had problems with the amount of time needed and wasted just to take honors courses. I felt like I was just sitting around for 7 hours a day and then being given hours of homework to make up for the lost time.

Went on a school trip to china
Because I was learning chinese during early high school, I went on a trip to China with my class where I learned about what it was like to be somewhere completely foreign to me. I was 16 at the time and felt like life was truly starting to pick up as it was soon time to find a car, a job, and decide what I want to do with life.
  • Met my girlfriend

    Met my girlfriend
I met my girlfriend on the trip to China, and we started hanging out and decided we worked well together. While I see high school as far too early to make any major life decisions, it is also the time where you see who you really are and what makes you happy. Things have gone indefinitely well and it is important to learn to understand relationships early on in life, as they will occur throughout the rest of it.

Got first job as a bagger and worked there for 7 months
I got a job bagging groceries and learned a lot throughout the 7 months I was there. I am a hard worker and willing to go above and beyond, but I also need respect or personal space to do my best. The grocery store's poor management and hours made me realize that I wanted to change things in my life to become more of the independent worker I feel I am.
  • Switched to online school during junior year

Switched to online school during junior year
Around the time I quit my first job, I decided that I was going to leave my traditional, 7 hours a day, public school and switch to online high school. As I am quite reserved, I get enough social contact through work and other hobbies and being in a classroom wasn't helping me in any way. Between poor teachers, unnecessary amounts of work, and boredom from sitting around all day seemingly doing nothing, I decided I needed the switch to online school.

Started working as a busser at a restaurant
Lastly, I got a job bussing tables at a restaurant, which taught me just how enjoyable a job can actually be. I could finally have a respectable job, have decent hours, and make extra to help pay off my car. Nobody told me to switch jobs or that I could or couldn't, which is why I value this decision so much. I bettered my life by making my own decisions and working hard to do it.
