    Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq all invaded Israel at the same time with the intention of destroying the Jewish state. The war started because of constant rejection of Arabs and from violence coming from the rise of modern Zionism and British policies in the Middle East.

    Six Day War
    A dramatic feeling of apprehension between the Israel and its neighboring Arab states rose during the mid 1960s. One cause of this tension was Israel's policy of directing water from the Jordan River to the Negev River. The Arabs were angry and threatned to divert the flow of water into Lake Galilee.
    Syria made earthworks that tried to direct the flow of water away from Israel but they were bombed in 1965 and 1966.

    Israel and Egypt both wanted to weaken the others side as much as possible with hopes of gaining the upperhand in later negotiations. Egypt wanted to gain back territory after they lost it in the Six Day War.

    Arabs launched a surprise attack on Israel knowing that Israel celebrated the Jewish event Yom Kippur leaving their guard temporarily down. The were devastatingly outnumbered and overwhelmed but fought back and pushed back Egypt and Syria showing how strong the Israeli military was.
