The risk for my sister not getting into a good school because of a bad ATC score was higher to her than her friends being mad at her for not hanging out -
long term effect
She ended up going to the collage she wanted and got a good score.
"Our brains will not automatically work in long-term mode" (textbook 8).
She made a special effort to do so for her future -
short term effect
She didn't go out with her friends and missed the party everyone was at so she went out with them the next weekend.
"Research by psychologist shows that we pay more attention to the risks that are right in front of us"(textbook 8). luckily my sister kept her eyes on the bigger picture and studied.
