The Cardinal Principles Document of Secondary Education
This is a document that created an expanded high school programs that would better serve a new secondary school population. This made it so there was more of a common core of knowledge they all obtained before going on any further in school forming a student into a responsible citizen. This started the common core state standards which still just as important today.

    Brown V Board of Education
This ruling stated that separation was not equal. Even though many resisted, legally African Americans were finally allowed the same opportunities to make help make education equal to all. This was a big step toward equality for African Americans. This is so important as it started equality in education for everyone.

    Federal Funding
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act gives federal funding to schools while forbidding a national curriculum. This later became known as the 2002 no child left behind act. This was the state seeking equity and excellence trying to close the achievement gaps that existed based on students’ race, economic status, disability, and language. This Act was similar to Brown V Board because it made education more equal for everyone.
  • No Child Left Behind Act

    No Child Left Behind Act
This Act increases the federal funding for education and ushers the standard-based reform. Some say it has increased the school's accountability while others say that it has made testing the focus on education while risking individuality. I felt this to be so important because it set standards and goals that we still have today to make sure the children are learning what they should be. These goals are still in effect today.
