He thought that all slaves that were 25 and older should be freed. he how ever got rejected by the senate by the south.

    This rebellion happened on August 22 and 23 1839 in Virginia at a town call Ampton. The people that were involved in this rebellion were Nat Turner and many slaves. Nat Turner was a slave on the Travis’s plantation. He was also a preacher and very religious. however he was the leader of a terrible rebellion that had 60-70 slaves that killed 60 plantation families. Nat Turner even killed his own master when he rebelled.

    The Dred Scott Case was the case that pretty much started the civil war. The case was about a slave that wanted to sue for his freedom. He unfortunately couldn't sue because the supreme court said he wasn't a citizen. they said he was property. He argued this because he went from missouri (which is a slave state) to Illinois (which is a free state) this is why he wanted to argue for his freedom because he spent time in free states.

The North had a majority of the electoral votes, making Abraham Lincoln the President with almost no support from the South. Before Lincoln's inauguration, seven slave holding Southern states secede from the United States and formed the Confederacy. This later then started the civil war.
