    Underground Railroad

    The Underground Railroad was a network of trails that led slaves to freedom. Harriet Tubman wa the most famous Underground Railroad conductor of the trails. Her nicknme was Moses because of how many people she has helped to freedom. There were many different routes and stations along the way.
  • John Brown

    John Brown was a very famous abolitionist from Torrington, Connecticut. He was a white freeperson and he was famous for fighting slavery with violence. He was a 19th century militiant abolitionist known for his raid on Harpers Ferry in 1859.
  • Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise is about weather not Missouri would join as a slave state or a free state. Southern slaveholders had already migrated into the territory and had made it more than academic. The US would no longer be a union of equal states. Missouri gained admission to the union as a slave state. On March 3, 1820 Congress passed a bill granting Missouri statehood as slave state under the condition that slavery was to be forever prohibited in the rest of the Louisiana Purchase north of the

  • Nat Turners Rebellion

    Nat Turners Rebellion
    Nat Turner's Rebellion was a disaster that took place, starting at the Travis Plantation on August 22 and ended on August 23. Nat led 60-70 slaves on to many plantations, killing the masters and their families. Almost 60 families died within those 48 hours. The results ended badly for all blacks, even in the north. Nat was jailed, tried in court, found guilty, and later executed by hanging.

    The Compromise of 1850 was multiple bills bills passed by congress in 1850. It caused a 4 year political confrontation for slave and free states. The compromise was put into effect by senator Henry Clay and Stephan Douglas. Each side disliked specific parts of the compromise.

    The Kansas Nebraska Act was to let Kansas and Nebraska be in popular soveirenty to choose to be a free or slave state.The Kansas Nebraska Act passed by congress on May 30 1854.Stephan Douglas ntrodued it. Its com pletly ended the Compromise of 1820 and th 36'30 line.
  • Dred Scott Case

    Dred Scott was a slave and his owner took him to a free state. He fought for his freedom because he thought he was a freeman since he was now in a free state. The court ruled against him. The Compromise of 1820 came into affect and he got his freedom. A friend of Scotts helpe with us feesand got him out. He died 9 months later.
  • Harpers Ferry

    Harpers ferry was an arsenal that John Brown raided. He came in and took everything so he could attack plantations. He planned to free all slaves by using violence to do it.
