    Turner was a preacher and him w/ about 80 slaves marched from farm to farm in South Hampton County, Virginia killing the inhabitants. A lot of them being woman and children. Scared whites and made slave states much harsher.
  • The Liberator

    Abolitionist newspaper created by William Lloyd Garrison which marks the start of the abolitionist movement. Later founded the American Antislavery Society.
  • John C. Calhoun

    Claims that slavery is good and beneficial to both races. He brings the phrase "positive good" into play.
