The slaves first came and they were forced to do many things that they didn't like bu had to do. -
Fugitive Slave Acts
They had to keep their eye out for any runaway slaves. The court had to make an act where they were regarding slaves to runaway. -
Slave trade abolished
This was when they were thinking about making states a free state for the slaves but since some people didn't agree on it then they would have to vote. Some states became free and some just stayed the same. -
Missouri Compromise
The states wanted another slave state but the free states would be uset because they wouldn't have an even amount for each one of the states. -
Uncle Toms Cabin Published
This is when some of the African Americans were tired of the way things were going. So since they were tired of it they decided to change it up and make an underground railroad for the ones who wanted to get out. -
Wilmot Proviso
He wanted to design apart of a land that would eliminate slavery. They had a pro-slave territory but many people were very upset about this -
Compromise of 1850
They were deciding if some states should be free or still have the slaves. They had a open court about it and most likely voted on it. -
Kansas-Nebraska Act
This was allowing settlers to make their own desition on weather or not slaves should be allowed with-in a new state's boarder. -
Bleeding Kansas
When Kasas was taking over a new boundry and they had a war to settle the arguement. -
Dredd Scott Case
This stated that no black,free or slave, could claim U.S. citizenship. So that way the blacks couldn't have any type of petition to detest all of what was happening. -
John Brown’s Raid on Harper’s Ferry
He wanted to make the government vote the the idea of free slaves. He put together an army and decided to go and make something happen.
