  • Treaty of paris

    The treaty of paris was on September 3, 1763. Ended the french and indian war. It did not granted the thirteen colonies political independce.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was on October 7, 1763. King George lll issued a proclamation that the colonial settlement west of the Appalation mountains. In the centuries since the proclamation, it has become one of the cornerstones of Native American law in the United States and Canada.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was on March 22, 1765. The stamp act was small. The British put taxes on all the American colonist and required them to pay tax on every peice of printed paper they used.
  • Quartering act

    The quartering act was on May 3, 1765. The british parliament met and finally passed a quartering act for the Americans. The stated that " troops could only be quartered in barracks and if there wasen't enough space in barracks then they were to be quartered in public houses and inns.
  • Townshed Act

    The townshed act was on June 29, 1767. The townshed act inposed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea inported into the colonies.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston masscre was on March 5, 1770. The colinest threw snowballs and other objects at the british. The british troops, who were sent to bosten enforced unpopular taxation measurements to the british parliment.

    The tea act was on April 27, 1773. Because all legal tea entered the colonies through england allowed it to sell tea more cheaply i the colonies. Even untaxed Dutch tea, witch entered the colonies illegally through smuggling, was more exspenive the east inda tea, after the act took afect.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was on December 16, 1773. On the night of December 16, 1773 Samual Adams and the sons of liberty borded three ships in the boston harbor and threw 342 chestes of tea overboard. The King was not very happy.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The olive Branch Petition was on July 5, 1775. It was a letter to King George lll from the members of the second Continental Congress. It represents the last attempt by the monderate party in north Amereica to avoid a war of independence against Britian.

    The common sense document was on January 9, 1776. The common sense document was published by Thomas Paine. It was a pamphlet that stated "common sense setting forth his arguments in favor of American independence."
  • Declaration of independence

    declaration of independence was on July 4, 1776. On July 4, 1776 congress approved the final text of the declaration. It wasen't signed until August 2, 1776.
