    Columbus was Italian, but sailed for Spain. Columbus first sailled to find a water route to Asia/India. Although, Columbus discovered North America instead and brought back golds and goods. This triggered other explorations to North America.

    Pineda mapped 800 miles of shoreline. This encouraged other exploers to have more expeditions on the gulf coast that also led to colonization by Europeans and Spainiards.

    Cortes conquered the Aztec Empire, anf found 99 tons of gold. This made people want to come back for more expeditons to find more gold.

    De Vaca searched for gold in Florida, but ended up exploring southwest Texas where he accomplished to be the first explorer in Texas , first to write a book about the indians, and first to perform surgery in Texas. He also reported the seven cities of gold which encouraged others to explore Texas

    De Vaca shiprecked in Texas, on a low sandy coast. After discovering Texas, he explored for eight years and met the Karankawas, Jumanos, and the Coahlitecans.

    Moscoso left to search for gold. Moscoso became the leader because De Sota dies later on. Although, Moscoso reported the same thing Coronado did, that there was harsh land, no gold, and difficult indians.

    Frar Marcos and Esteban's Journey
    The purpose of the journey was to study the land of the North Evaluate. There have been theories of what have happened to Esteban, some believed he was killed by the Native Americans. Later, Frar Marcos reported to see a city of gold, but was later proved wrong.

    Coronado's Expidition

    Coronado searched for the seven cities of gold, where Fray de Niza was a guide. He did discover there was no seven cities of gold, but did discover there was no gold, harsh lands, and difficult indians. He reported to not go back to the New World again. After that, no one went until 150 years later.
