Tangerine Day 9

  • Luis Cruz Dies

    Luis Cruz died. His father found him dead in the grove. Getting hit on the head caused an aneurysm that killed him. The sheriff doesn't know about Arthur's blackjack and assumed it was a falling branch.
  • No Funeral Invite

    Theresa Cruz, Luis's sister, calls Paul to tell him to not come to the funeral.
  • Pond Madness

    Paul goes out to the pond, and a little boy rides up on his bike. The kid tells Paul that his parents said there was a gator in the pond that eats kids. Paul ends up screaming at the kid that his parents are lying.
  • Emotional Breakdown

    Paul pulls up a square of sod. He digs through the white sand under the sod until he finds regular dirt, then starts sobbing, thinking about Luis, letting his tears fall into the dirt.
  • Senior Awards Night

    A memorial tree for Mike Costello was brought out and a bunch of dirt was spilled
  • An Old Friend

    Joey acts friendly again at the Ceremony.
  • A fight breaks out in the gym

    Paul notices that TIno and Vicor are there, and freaks out. Tino then walks up to Erik, kicks him in the gut, and then knees him in the face. He tells them that was for Luis. Victor tackles Arthur, and starts beating him up too. Paul then jumps on Coach Warner, and all of them escape.
  • Not a word.

    Paul's father and the coach demand to know who those boys were, Paul doesn't say a word.
  • Confidence

    When Erik and Arthur drive up, something has changed. Paul isn't scared of them anymore. He confronts them and tells them he saw Arthur kill Luis. Arthur pleads Erik to leave, and Erik says "Shut up, Castor!"
  • Memories

    The name, Castor, brought back another memory to Paul. Castor had been Erik's sidekick in 5th grade. They had spray-painted something on the development wall of their old neighboorhood, and had gotten in trouble for it. They thought Paul told on them, and cornered him in the garage. Erik held Paul's eyes open white Castor sprayed white spray paint into them.
  • The Truth be Told

    Now that he knows the truth, he torms inside and confronts his parents. After they admit what had happened, both the parents break down crying.
  • Antoine

    Shandra tells Paul that Antoine is sick of lying about where he lives in order to play on the Lake Windsor team. He's also upset that Shandra can't get the soccer glory she deserves at Tangerine, because they don't want to draw attention to the fact that she plays there, white he's at Lake Windsor.
