Technological Inventions

  • First Elevator

Created in the 18th century, with one of the first used by King Louis XV in 1743. He had an elevator constructed at Versailles that would carry him from his apartments on the first floor to his mistress’ apartments on the second floor.
  • The first Camera

    The first Camera
The first camera invented was made by Alexander Wolcott. His camera design was patented on May 8, 1840. His invention made it possible for candid photos to be taken and not fade away with time. Mr. Wolcott also has the distinction of opening the earliest photography shop (known as a daguerran parlor) in New York.
  • Mechanical color

The first mechanical color television set is placed on the market at $499.95
  • First Digital Camera

    First Digital Camera
Eastman Kodak Co. developed the prototype for a digital camera. The device was a large 8-pound box about the same size as six staked books. The lens on the camera was about the same size as the screen on most modern digital cameras. The camera had the same CCD image sensor that video technology of the time used and had a megapixel count of 0.01. It took approximately half a minute to take a photograph. The device was created from several pieces of other cameras.
  • First Mechanica Tv

    First Mechanica Tv
John Logie Baird showed his new invention to the Royal Institute of Great Britain and to a reporter from The Times of London. He was able to transmit images of a person with a ventriloquist doll
  • Analog Camera

Electronic handheld cameras were the next closest predecessor to the modern digital camera. The cameras recorded pixel signals similar to movie cameras rather than in the way modern digital cameras processed pixels. These cameras were demonstrated in the early 1980s and were used mainly in news media outlets. The quality of these devices was similar to television at the time.
  • World Wide Web

Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN, was the inventor of the world wide web. The web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automatic information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world.
  • Myspace

    Myspace
Myspace was founded by Chris deWolfe, Brad Greenspan, Tom Anderson and Josh Beman after they saw the potential in Friendters concept. Anderson would later become president and DeWolfe would become CEO.
  • Lamp Powered by Plants

    Lamp Powered by Plants
Students at the Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia created the Plantalamparas which now helps bring light to small peruvian towns
  • Darpa Sense Prosthetic Hand

    Darpa Sense Prosthetic Hand
Most classic prosthetics are not designed to let the wearers feel. However, DARPA’s latest version of a prosthetic hand uses neurotechnology to do just that. The connection works with electrodes pinned to his sensory and motor cortex. He became the first person to be able to “feel” sensations through a prosthetic hand, according to DARPA.
  • Plastic Strips

Scientists at Florida Atlantic University have created paper and plastic strips for in-home testing of HIV, E.coli, Staphylococcus Aureus and other types of bacteria. The pieces are working together with a smartphone app that can recognise the bacteria by looking at the images.
  • Special Nike Shoes

    Special Nike Shoes
