    The law or April 6,1830
    Thiis law abanned immigration from the United States. It also made it legal for peoplefor settlers to bring slaves into Texas.
  • Turtle Bayou Resolutions

    Turtle Bayou Resolutions
    Patrick Jack got arrested. Patrick's brother,William Jack, rallied the people of Anahuac to support his brother. A force of 150 people ,arched against the fort at Anahuac. After withdrawing,Sttlers went to turtle Bayou. There they drew up a list of resolutions that stated the events at Anahuac were not an act or rebellion, but a defense of rights and the constitution.
  • Clash at Velasco

    Clash at Velasco
    Afetr the fight at Anahuac Colonel Jose de las Piedras forced Colonel Bradburn to resign, convinced he was responsible for the violence. Piedras agreed to releas the prisoners after conflict had ended wtih Bradburn. Unaware that the battle had ended, John Austin and his men leaded a cannon on a ship headed for Anahuac. When he reached Velasco, Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea,wouldn't let them pass. Fighting soon broke outand the Mexicans were forced to surrender because of little ammunition.

    Convention of 1832
    They called a convention in 1832 to discuss possible changes in policy that they would like to see in Texas. Stephen F. Austin was president of the convention. They asked the Mexican government to allow legal immigration from the U.S. They wanted Texas to be a separate state. They wanted the custom duties to be removed for 3 years. They also wanted land for public school. William H. Wharton and Rafael Manchola were chosen to present their ideas to the state and federal governments.

    Convention of 1833
    William Wharton was the president of this convention. Again Texans asked that the immigration from the U. S. be allowed. They requested that Texas be separated from Coahuila so that they could have more control over thier affairs. They even wrote a constitution for the proposed state. Stephen F. Austin, Erasmo Seguin and James B. Miller were chosen to present these ideas to Santa Anna
