The Frech Revolution Officially started when the storming of the bastille hapened, however events like the Estates GEneral and the year of the famine led up to it happening. -

The Reign of terror was mostly controlled by Robeispere who executed and guillotined anyone who oppsed to French Revolution. Overr 15,000 people were executed in this way. -
Battle of Toulon
This was Napoleon's first victory. He fought in Toulon's prot to take control of t over the British. -

Egyptian Campaign
Napoleon liked the idea of controlling Eygpt because it would help trade and increase his power. However, his campaign failed. He manged to keep the knowladge of this defeat from the people of France. -
18 Brumaire Coup
Napoleon makes an end to the Directory and forms his three person consul. -
First Consul for Life Plebiscite
Napoleon is voted the first consul. In this way he can have high power without declaring himeself ruler. -
Napoleonic Code
Napoleon's new code abolished the unfairness of the ancient regime and made property rights more equal. However, it lowered the rights and value of women. -
Napoleons Coronation
Napoleon crowns himself emperor in a proud way. He takes the crown out of the Pope's hands and puts it on himself, making the statement, "I choose this." -
Battle of Trafalgar
Napoleon suffers a defeat from the Brittish navy. It is here that he gives up on conquering Britian for he knows that he can not get past their Navy. -
Battle of Austerlitz
Napoleon has an impressive victory over the Russain and Austrain army. This is where he beats the Third Coalition. -

Continental System
Napoleon, in effort to weaken the British, forms a blockade for all trade in europe. This embargo ends up hurting the French more than helping them becuase now the French people can not get goods that they are used to having. -

Peninsular War
Napoleon fights with the Spanish Empire over control of the Iberian Peninsula. France does not gain control, and Napoleon loses another battle. -

Invasion of Russia
Napoleon tries to invade Russia. However, his soldiers have to walk a long way, and each city they come to has been burned to the ground. This invasion is extreamly unsucessful, and results in part of Napoleons downfall. -
Retreat from Moscow
When Napoleon finally reaches Moscow, he finds it deserted, with no people, food, or supplies in sight. Unable to spend the winter there, his didscouraged troups return to France. -
Battle of Leipzig
Napoleon's army gets defeated by Austria, Prussia, Russia, Swedish, and the Bohemian armies. This is the final straw for the French people that leads to Napoleon's exile. -
Exile to Elba
First, Napoleon offers to step down from the throne and put is son in power. This idea is rejected, so instead neither he nor his son gets power and he gets banished. -

Hundred Days
Napoleon return to France and regains control, cuasing the kind who had been ruling to flee. He manages to rule for one hundred days before he is banished to a far away island as an outlaw. -
Battle of Waterloo
This was Napleon's final defeat. He fought the British and Prussians who were strongly against his return to power. -
Exile to St. Helena
Napoleon is finially exiled to an island off the coast of Africa, a place from where it would be almost impossible to escape. -
Napoleon's Death
Napoleon dies on the isalnd od St. Helena and then his body get sshipped back to paris. His supposed cause of death is stomach cancer, but nobody knows for suree.
