    On the night of March 5th, 1770, a British century was guarding his post when several colonists began to taunt him and throw objects. The crowd grew and tensions were rising. A shot was fired and then the two groups began to fight. In the end, 5 colonists were killed and the British soldiers were arrested and charged with murder. Later, they were acquitted in court on the basis of self defense.
