    The Northern Expedition
    The First Military action of the new Kuomintang army, this operation saw the expansion north to wipe out local war lords to unify China
  • Shanghai Massacre

    Shanghai Massacre
    Many Kuomintang leaders held meetings about the rise of Communist activities that were being held in Kuomintang area's. On the 12th Kuomintang officers arrested and murdered hundreds of Communist sympathizers.
  • Capture of Beijing

    Capture of Beijing
    The Communist wing of the Kuomintang was removed, the Kuomintang resumed its efforts in the Northern War lords in June of 1928 later capturing the capital of Beijing.
  • The Second Sino-Japanese War

    The Second Sino-Japanese War
    The Imperial Japanese Army declared war on both the Kuomintang and what was left of the Chinese Communist area's. Faced with this new threat, both the Kuomintang and the Communist's banded together and made the United Front to fight the Japanese forces.

    After the Surrender of Japan in 1945, the two Chinese governments tried to come together to make a joint government, but that all crumbled when Manchuria was unclaimed land and the two powers rushed in to take it.

    The Russian backed Chinese Communist Party pushed the Kuomintang out out Manchuria and later out of China, the Kuomintang was pushed out of China into the island of Taiwan were they still are today.
