    Met in Putsdam, Germany from July 17th to August 2, 1945 to negotiate terms for the end of WWII.
  • The Beginning of the Cold War

    The Cold War was a long period of tension between the democracies pf the Western World and the Communist countries of Eastern Europe. The West was lead by the US. The Eastern Europe was lead by the Soviet Union.
  • Berlin Blockade/ Airliftt

    The U.S and British dropped supplies to the city of Berlin from aircrafts. As a result, of Russia building the Berlin Blockade and cutting off the supplies of Berlin. (The blockade was built around the city of Berlin.)
  • Vietnam War

    The North Vietnamese government and the Viet Cong were fighting to reunify Vietnam under Communist rule, they fought initially fought against France, then the United States and later against South Vietnam
  • Cuban MIssile Crisis

    Standoff between John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev over the Soviet plan to install nuclear on the island of the U.S.A, just 100 miles away from Florida.
  • Glasnot/Perestroika

    Mikhail created Perestroika and Glasnot to reform the Union. The term "Glasnot" means openess. "Pereastroika" refers to the reconstruction of the political and economic system estabished by the communist party.
  • Berlin Wall

    The Berlin Wall was built by the communist government of East Berlin in 1981, the wall separated East Berlin and West Berlin, it was built in order to prevent people from fleeing East Berlin, in many ways it was an "Iron Certin" that separated the democratic western countries and the communist countries of eastern europe throughout the cold war.
