  • America Drops the Big One

    America Drops the Big One
America uses the first ever atomic bomb during the cold war. The bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The United States assumed this would give them an advantage in the cold war, despite the cold war being very uneventful within itself. Despite this war not being very "active", America using an atomic bomb proved that they were technologically advanced and had access to nuclear power. This was a huge weapon which in fact did give America the upper hand.

    The Vietnam War
The Vietnam was started because Southern Vietnam was allied with the United states and Northern Vietnam was allied with the USSR. just a reminder the cold was a fight between the two. Troops from both nations were sent over to fight with really no choice at all. The US worried about the North winning the war. They assumed if this happened then more countries in Asia would fall to communism.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    The Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban missile crisis was the closest America had come to nuclear war. The Soviet Union was building forces in Cuba which is very close to America. This had Americans and the American Armed Forces worried, so they prepared for an attack. Cuba and the Soviet Union were both communist nations, it is understandable why the SU wanted to get armed in Cuba. The SU was prepared to use nuclear power as well in case the island was invaded. Thanks to president John F. Kennedy, the attack was adverted.
  • The Berlin Wall is Tobbled

    The Berlin Wall is Tobbled
The communist block had been weakening in Germany. The East Germany communist leaders figured that the country needed change, however, it's citizens thought otherwise. Communism had already been failing or had already failed in other European countries in the past years. East Germany citizens thought it was their turn to revolt against communism. They wanted to change to capitalism. So with that the wall stated to come down in a split second. It came down almost as fast as it was put up.
