Scene 1
The scene opens up and girls were caught dancing in the woods they were accused of conjuring spirits -
Scene 1
Betty Parris fainted and will not wake up after Reverened Parris caught them dancing and swaying in thee woods. He claims he saw one girl naked and heard jibberish. Witch craft becomes involved. -
Scene 1
Abigail drank blood to put a spell on Goody Proctor. We can infer that she wants Mr. Proctor to herself. -
Scene 1
Thomas Putnam is rich and vindictive. His daughter Ruth is also in a state of shock. -
Scene 1
Parris is selfish and only is concered about his position in Salem. -
Scene 2
John Proctor and Elizabeth Proctor are talking in thier home. It is an awkward exchange between them Proctor is guilty of lechary with Abigail. And Elizabeth knows it. -
Scene 2
The past seven months has been a rebuilding of thier relationship. -
Scene 2
Mary Warren enters. She has been at court. 39 people stand accused of witch craft. -
Scene 2
Mary Warren gives Elizabeth a poppet. She says "We must be good to eachother". We also learn that Elizabeth has been accused by Abigail. -
Scene 2
Enter Rev. Hale. to question Elizabeth. Hale then asks Proctor to recite the ten commandments. He recites all but forgets adultery. -
Scene 2
Rebecca Nurse and Martha Corey are arrested and Elizabeth is charged. Cheever finds the doll with a needle in it. Abigail has stabed a needle two inches deep and blames Elizabeths spirit. -
Scene 3
Proctor, Giles, Hale, Francis, and Mary Warren all go to court room to defend the accused. -
Scene 3
Mary Warren presents her depostion and confeses. She says it was all pretense. The court then asks Mary Warren it faint to prove it. She cannot do so. -
Scene 3
Proctor then confesses to the affair with Abigail. Judge Danforth questions it and Proctor states "What man would give up his good name as a lie. -
Scene 3
Enter Elizabeth Proctor who is pregnant they bring her in to see if Proctor is telling the truth. Proctor say she is an honest women and that she never lie. She lies to protect her husband not knowing that he has already confessed. -
Scene 3
Abigail then sees a bird and claims that it is Mary Warrens spirit. Mary Warren breaks down and the girls and Abigail mimic her, Mary blames John and claims that he bid her to do the devils work. John Proctor says that "God is Dead". -
Scene 4
A couple months have passed and Elizabeth is showing of her pregnancy.Hale has returned to try to save those of the accused. He tries to get them to confess to save their lives. Hale feels very guilty -
Scene 4
We learn that Abigail has run away with Mercy Lewis and has stole all of Rev. Parris' money. -
Scene 4
Proctor and Elizabeth speak to eachother and forgive one another. Parris and Hale want Proctor to confess to witchcraft to have his life. Proctor decides to confess. -
Scene 4
Proctor is asked by the court to sign a documetn stating that he was involved with witchery, It will be hung on the church door for all to see. He does not want to give up his name because it is the only one he has in life. -
Scene 4
John Proctor, Martha Corey, and Rebecca Nurse are executed by sunrise. All good and innocent people.
