    Rome wasn't a true democracy because only the upper class male citizens had the right to vote. They ruled power over the lower class. The lower class created a new democratic institution called the Senate.

    King John was forced to sign the Magne Carta. Making it so the king was not allowed to do whatever he wanted, he was restriced to certain rules.

    Communism is the idea of all property is publicly owned and the everyone makes the same amount of money. This begain with Karl Max when he wrote the Communist Manifesto outlining communism in 1848. In 1917, Vladamir Lenin adapted this method in Russia. Then in the 1920's Joseph Stalin adapted this method which resulted in 20-30 million deaths of Russian people and began the Cold War.

    Fascism is an authoritarian and nationalistic system of government. Fascism begain with Benito Mussolini when he formed a fascist group in Italy after WWI, he used brute force and newly formed black shirts to keep order. Then in the 1920's, Hitler formed a fascist government in Germany which played a hand in WWII and he ended up killing 55 million people.

    Militarism is the idea of having a strong military and puts great importance into the military. This began in the 1930's in Japan after a short period of democracy. Japan adapted to militarism after being frusturated with the treatment they recieved by the West. This resulted in Emperor Hirohito leading Japan to war.
