    Rome
    (509 BCE) Rome declared a republic after the king was sent away when people started to rebel against him. In this republic, the patricians ruled over the plebs (upper class over lower class) until they rebelled and won more rights. The Senate was helped created by the plebs, but only the patricians could have a say.

    Greece
    (700 BCE) Cleisthens brought in a new politics system called "demokratia" which consisted of three branches. These three branches were "Ekklesia," "Boule," and "Dikasteria." Ekklesia was where the law came from, Boule were representatives of the ten tribes, and Dikasteria was where the citizens of Greek argued about things. Things were decided by the representatives of the tribes, and all citizens had rights and were expected to have a role in their cities.

    Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta made sure that kings could not just do whatever they wanted, and that the people had their own rights as well. This is something that the British Parliament evolves from.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The American Revolution was essential to the evolution of democracy. In this time, the goverment had limits to their power and Americans were able to vote for what they wanted.
  • French Revolution

    French Revolution
    The gullotine was used a lot in this time, and boht King Louie XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette were overthrown and sent to it by the middle class citizens. Power rose to their heads and Napoleon tried to take over Europe.
  • Communism

    Communism
    Communism was started by Karl Marx who wrote the Communist Manifesto. It was later tweaked for Vladamir Lenin to do what he wanted. In the end, Joseph Stalin killed millions of Russians and made the world go into the Cold War.
  • Fascism

    Fascism
    Benito Mussolini started a fascist government after World War One, and later on, Hitler was noticed and said he could reverse how things were economically at the time.
  • Militarism

    Militarism
    Japan started Militarism because they felt that they were treated badly and wanted to get revenge. Later on, Emporer Hirohoto made Japan go into war. Nothing good came out of this, and a very tragic memorable event that happened was the "Rape of Nanking."
  • United Nations

    United Nations
    The UN made the declaration of human rights because they knew that if they didn't, things like what happened in World War 2 again. This declaration made sure that all humans were able to do their thing without any harm from the government.
