    Restyled front grilles, a twin I-beam front suspension, and the termination of the uni-body style of trucks characterized the 4th generation of these trucks. The manufacturing process for these trucks now consisted of two seperate pieces (cab and bed) being attached to the frame, which allowed for greater frame flexing which was required during rigorious offroad applications.
