Proclamation of Nuetrality
The Proclamation of Neutrality was about the President trying to be neutral During the war of France and Great Britain. During the war the relationship of France and America started to deteriorate. This was because the U.S. wasn't paying France what it needed. Then Britain started to impress Americans into their navy. This is what led to the start of the war of 1812. -
Alien and Sedition Acts
This act dealt with many foreigners coming into America. Then three new laws were being made. The main point of the law was to stop criticism (and well lets just say that didn't work). Then people started to criticize John Q Adams. Then they started to deport people from the country. In the end the law to stop getting criticized didn't go as planed. -
War With Tripoli
This event took place in North African areas. This war took place mainly at sea because America wasn't paying Africa what they needed to pay. Then this led to a naval war near Tropoli. Four years later there came peace but Thomas Jefferson. -
Louisian Purchase
This event took place in America. In 1803 Thomas Jefferson thought it would be great to by land from Spain. This was called the Louisiana Purchase. In the process of doing tis he spent 15 million dollars to double the size of the United States. Then this led to William Clark and Merriweather Lewis on an expedition through the land they just bought. -
War of 1812
This event was a war between France and Great Britain. At this time the war was going on and the U.S didn't want to get involved in the war. Then they almost got force to help France because Great Britain was impressing the U.S sailors. Then the U.S became completely independent from Europe. After this Andrew Jaxson and William Henry Harrison were considered heroes for there efforts and there end to the war, -
Monroe Doctorine
This event took place in Latin America. This event was about the U.S not wanting Europe to colonize in America. So what the U.S pretty much just tried to kick them out but they refused. So America said that Europe should expect a strong response to the actions they took to stay. Then they made this a law that it was foreign policy that made the U.S was the main power on its own land. -
Tariff of Abomanations
This is an event about southern states getting more factories. The Way they tried to get more factories was through taxes. This made foreign goods more expensive. This led to less being bought. Then the south got their new factories. Although the south got more factories but ended up paying more for the manufacturing goods but lost money on their products. -
Trial of Tears
This event was about 4000 Indians who died on the walk to the area they lived. This issue was bad because the U.S went to war with the Cherokees. Once the war was over it led to the Indian removal act. After that all of the surrendered Indians were marched back to their reserve. On the walk there a little over 4000 Indians died. In the end we got more land but 4000 Indians died and the rest that lived the walk didn't trust the Americans back then.
