The Giver

  • Evening Meal

The event that I chose was when Lily, Jonas's little sister shared her feelings of that day. It is important because as a family they worked out a problem that had to do with Lily. They didn't make any feel like they were in trouble. They helped her and put it in a way she would understand
  • His Name Is Gabriel

Jonas's father brings home a newchild who needs more help and care, and they call him Gabriel, although Jonas's Father is not supposed to know the child's name. This is important because it shows that anyone can do anything. Not just adults, not just children, any size and shape. It is also important because if someone needs help and care you should help them and care for them
  • The not to serious rule

The event Ichose is when Jonas and Lily's dafather broke the rule when he was a child. The rule was that he taught his little sister how to ride a bike.I say this event is important becauseit shows that adults make mistakes as children because they are not perfect.
  • Changing The Rules

In this book I found out that it will take a long time to change the rules. This is important because there are so many rules in The Giver that don't make any sense. This shows that the government may not have to much power. They should have a community group that helps change the rules.
  • In the Dream

In Jonas's dream, he was in the bathing room at the House of Old, but rather than bathing one of the Olds, he was alone and half-dressed with Fiona standing next to a tub. This is important because it shows that people can have some dreams that are intresting. This shows that a dream is a dream and real life is real life.In Jonas's dream, he was in the bathing room at the House of Old, but rather than bathing one of the Olds, he was alone and half-dressed with Fiona standing next to a tub.
