Lola is six and a half years old. She goes to nursery school. Her father's cousin runs the school out of her home. There are about a dozen of other kids. -

Now the Germans are here, all the Jews in Czortkow are confined to a ghetto, a series of streets and buildings where Jews must live. Unless you have the right papers you cannot leave the ghetto. If you don't have the right paper they kill you in the spot. -

March 1943
Purim, is the day that celebrates Queen Esther. Purim is always a happy holiday. It's kind of the Jewish Halloween kids dress up and have fun. -
Spring 1943

Before sunrise Lola and the others crawl out of the hole. -

Germans come back to Cortzcov trying to reclaim the territory Lola had to leave The place because Rosde refused to take her back to the farmhouse -

A Russian soldier offers to take her to an orphanage in Keiv -
April 12, 1944
The Russian soldier explains to the mayor that he was talking Lola to the orphanage in Keiv. but his plans have been changed he now has to go back the way he came. Sergai a man who happend to be at city hall, offers to take Lola -
Summer of 1944
The Germans completely disappear. -
D-Day, June 6, 1944
American and British soldiers land on the beaches of Normandy, France and began to push the Germans Westerds while the Russians are pushing them eastward This is the day American thinks is the beginning of the end of WWII. -
October 4, 1944
Lola turns 10 years old while living with Sergai. She is sad and upset but will not let anyone know. She is dealing with big emotions over losing her family and being tossed from one place from another, Feelings of being unwanted. Sergai has been writing letters to Corztkov to try and find family of Lola's -
April 12, 1945
Sergai finally gets ahold of Uncle George. He looks for her without the proper papers to leave the ghetto. He got placed in jail and he got sick. -

Germany Surrendered. Known as 'Victory in Europe Day' -

Poles and Ukrainians are still killing Jews even though the war is over. -

September 1945
Lola gets onto a train with a man named Romek heading to Krakow to be reuinited with her uncle George. When she got there she felt numb. even though she know it is a emotional moment. -
Late Summer 1946
Lola's Uncle Issac shows up at Uncle's George's house. Lola likes Krakow However, they don't stay long and end up leaving because the the tension between the Poles and Jews has not gone away. -
Fall 1946
Lola, And her family are moving country to country trying to escape from the persection of Jews. -
December 1946- Janurary 1947
Lola finds herself in Eschwage, Germany in a displaced person's camp run by the United Nations. She spends over a year there. Lola tries to Isreal because she doesn't want to go to America -
July 7, 1949
Lola finally gets clearance to travel to America. Uncle George and his family received clearance the year prior but waited for Lola. -
September 1949
Lola starts high school but drops out of high school and started working full-time because she takes care of herself not asking anyone for anything. -

Lola graduatates at 16 with her comotometer operater caritificite She stars working at Saks 34th street during the day and goes to high school at night -

Lola is 28 years old and has been living in America for 13 years. She open the New york newspaper and sees an article with the headlines NAZI OFFICER GETS LIFE IN PRISON. He was found guilty of killing Jews. Her mother's killer was finally inprisoned. -
