    The Council Of Chalcedon

    The Council of Chalcedon was created in order to speak about the idea of Jesus being either Human or Divine. This was a problem back then as if one were to talk about his Divinity then you are disregarding his humanity and vice versa. The church doesn't want conflict and heresy so therefore, they created the idea that Jesus was both "fully human and fully divine"

    East-West Schism
    The East-West Schism is an event that happened the East Church and the West Church separated due to the fact that the East Church and the West Church has different features such as different language, different leaders and different celebrations. The image that is shown here shows the East Church and the West Church. The blue part is the East Church and the orange being the West Church.

    The Plague / The Black Death

    The Plague / The Black Death
    The Black Death is a plague that roamed across the world. This is relevant to the Church Timeline as it was the start of Indulgences. The Black Death was a mass killer during their time. The Romans were afraid of the death during the time of The Black Death as the Romans wanted a sure-fire way to go to heaven but they believed that a sin will stop you. The Church took this idea and made indulgences that supposedly "cleanse" you from sin and used this to make money as shown in the image.

    Martin Luther's Publication of the 95 Theses

    Martin Luther's Publication of the 95 Theses
    Martin Luther's Publication of the 95 Theses is an event that started the Protest Reformation. The 95 Theses were made in retaliation to the Church's corruption, the fact that Church uses belief to make money such as Indulgences. The 95 Theses was the start of the the protest and began the Protest Reformation which changed the church's way.

    The Council Of Trent

    The Council of Trent was an event in response to Luther's 95 Theses and King Henry VIII's actions against his divorce. Paul III called bishops to The Council of Trent in order to discuss these issues such as forbidding the corrupt practices of bishops such as Indulgences which is used in order to raise money and changing what is needed to be bishop by extending the time to six months.

    Peace of Augsburg

    Peace of Augsburg
    The Peace of Augsburg is set in Germany where there was an agreement to legalise Catholicism and Lutheranism. The main aspects that are put into effect is that practitioners of Catholicism and Lutheranism are to sustain peace.

    The First Vatican Council

    The First Vatican Council was an event of the Church that was made in order to discuss the Authority of the Pope. Called by Blessed Pius IX and attended by 744 bishops, they discussed if the Pope was infallible which means "never wrong". They restricted the Pope's infallibility only when he is making an announcement. This also includes the Bishop so they restricted their infallibility to when they are teaching about their faith

    The Second Vatican Council

    The Second Vatican Council is an event that Pope John XXIII has announced during World War II. This event was not about any issues nor problems within the church community but rather, promoting peace and unity in the society. A total of nearly 2000 bishops from all around the world attended the meeting to discuss and promote world peace.
