Amir was born
Amir was born in 1963 in Kabul. His first word was Baba. Later on, Hassan was born , his first word was Amir. It is ironic to see how since they were born both Hassan and Amir showed who they cared about and saw as their important person. -
Baba builts his orphanage
In the late 1960's Amir was like 5 or 6, that was when Baba built an orphanage. Amir had heard about it through Rahim Khan. It took three years to built the orphanage, Amir was 8 by then. -
Kabul isn't a monarchy
Amir had heard gun fires the night before july 17 he thought people were just shooting ducks. Turns out it was ducks after all but they hadnt shot much of anything that night. Kabul awoke the next morning to find out that the monarchy was a thing of the past -
winter of 1974
The winter of 1974 was the last winter before hassan stopped smiling. Hassan and Amir were building a snow fort. It was Hassans birthday and Baba would always give Hassan an amazing birthday present every year. That year Baba got a Hassan a Doctor named Dr.Kurmur to fix his harelip. -
The incident of 1975
videoIn the winter of 1975, Hassan ran a kite for the last time.I think that this was the most important event in the book because of how the series of events that followed had something to do with this. This was the year Hassan ran the kite for Amir when Amir had won the kite flying contest. After Hassan ran the kite , Assef threatened that if he didnt give the kite to him then something bad would happen. Since Hassan was loyal to Amir,he refused to give up the kite and that caused Assef to rape him -
Hassan and Ali leave
Amir couldnt live with his "guilt" for witnessing what happened to Hassan. He decided to plant afghani bills and a new watch below Hassans mattress knowing that someone will find it & blame Hassan. Ali and Hassan left Baba and Amir that day. -
Amir's birthday party
It was Amirs birthday that summer of 1976, Baba always had the biggest birthday parties for Amir to celebrate his party. Baba would invite nearly everyone. Assef had came to this party and acted like nothing ever happened between him and Hassan. That day Amir sat with Rahim Khan & Rahim told him he could tell him anything at all. -
Baba and Amir
On March 1981, the things were getting worse in Afghanistan causing Amir and Baba to flee. They take route to Jalalabad. A year later Baba and Amir move to the United States. -
Baba's cancer
informationIt started with a cough but then Baba got worse, he hated hospitals but Amir took him once he noticed it had gotten worse. Baba had Oat Cell Carcinoma. Soraya and Amir get engaged and do their wedding so that Baba gets to see it before he dies. A month after, Baba dies. -
Rahim calls Amir
On June 2001, Amir gets a call from Rahim Khan. Amir hadnt heard of him for a while and he is told that Rahim is very sick and needs him to go back to Afghanistan. He says "there is a way to be good again". Once Amir goes it turns out hassans son was taken and Amir has to go get him. -
Sohrab
summary of last chaptersAmir finally escapes Assef and gets to keep Sohrab. On August 2001 , they both go back to America. At the end of the book they both fly a kite together. Sohrab finally smiles a little.
