Amir was born and right after his death, his mom died instantly on the spot. A very short year later Hassan was born on a cold winter day. His father (until known full truth until end) was Ali and his wife who left as soon as Hassan was born. Ali was Baba’s (Amir dad) servants as well as best friends, and both boys were nursed by the same woman. -
Hassan and Amir encounter Assef
Kabul woke up to find that the monarchy was a thing of the past and that David Khan had ended the 40 year reign with a bloodless coup. Amir and Hassan decided to go up to their little tree and as they were walking they ran into Assef and his 2 friends, Wali and Kamal. Assef started bullying both boys and calling Hassan names and threatening them. Hassan stood up for Amir and was going to use his slingshot on Assef, but he left saying they were going to regret that one day. -
Amirs first story
Amir and Hassan walked up to the hill and Amir read Hassan a story but was changing up the words to make Hassan feel interested. Hassan found the story very fascinating and started complimenting Amir on what he thought was the actual version of the story. Amir was feeling very great about himself and went home to write his first short story that night. When Amir finished, he went to Baba to show it to him and he dismissed work as if nothing had happened. -
Hassans cleft lip
It was Hassans birthday and Baba seemed to never miss out on getting him a gift. The boys were playing outside and when they were called in expecting to find a wrapped present, they found a doctor instead.Baba explained that he had gottena doctor to fix Hassans cleft lip and the surgery would be a very short one. So, Hassans surgery was a success and he was happy and smiling but by the next winter It was a little car, and exactly when he had stopped smiling. -
Winter of 1975
Kite BattlesHassan and Amir had prepared for this day of the kite fighting competiton and they made a pretty good team. Amir had won and his kite had gome flying and Hassan was good on strategy so he went and chased down the kite and told Amir, “For you a thousand times over!” Amir went over to Ali handed him his kite, and went to go look for Hassan wo had been running down the kite. He then found him in an alley in which Assef and his boys had cornered him. Hassan had gotten raped by Assef. -
Hassan ans Ali leave
Amir was turning 13 and Baba had throw him a huge party and everyone came to congratulate Amir on im winnng his kite fighting contest and on him turning 13. Here is when Amir came up with a plan to get rid of Hassan and Amir so he wouldn’t have to feel so guilty everytime he saw them. Amir came up with a lie saying that Hassan had stolen one of his gifts, hoping Hassan would not take the fault, which ended up with Ali wanting to leave and asking to leave to Hazarajat. -
Getting to America
Amir and Hassan had to leave Kabul due to the fact that it was getting dangerous. They went ina car with a bunch of others to try to escape without anyone noticing. Baba defended a woman on the car who was being disrespected. They then met up with Karim who would help then cross to America and get to California to change their lives for the better. They then got to America and had to start all over and start from zero. -
"Theres a ay to become good again"
Amir had already met Soraya and had been married already. Baba had died with cancer and Amir had been left alone feeling lonely. Amir had just gotten a phone call from Rahim Khan where he said that this was his second chance to make things good again. Amir was nervous an didn’t think he would hear from Rahim again but he decided to go out to Peshawar to see what he could do. Amir wasntt exactly received with open arms and he saw everything much differenet ever since the Taliban had took over. -
Amir meets Sohrab
stoning articleAmir was on his way to find Sohrab but first he had to meet with an official from the Taliban. They (Amir and Farid) went out to the soccer stadium and went to watch the game and for the man who has Sohrab. As the game was going on, in halftime, trucks came out with various people tied up. The taliban used a method fo stoning in front of everyone to punish the woman for her behavior. He then arranged to meet up with the man who ended up being Assef who had taken Sohrab. Sohrab is family

Amir had spent some time with Sohrab and offered him the fact to take him back to America. Soraya was excited to have Sohrab but the problem was getting him out of America. They were denying the right of Amir to take Sohrab out back to America and Sohrab tried committing suicide. Sohrab then fell into a state of depression but was taken back to America. Then in March 2002, the family went to fly kites and for the first time in a long time, Sohrab smiled again.
