In January 1999, a rocket is launched from Ohio. It creates so much warmth that all the snow melts, and for a moment it is summer. -
Ylla
In February of that same year, on Mars, a Martian woman named Ylla has dreams of a rocket coming down from the sky, in this rocket she meets Nathaniel York. Her husband thinks she is crazy and takes her to town to distract her. That night, she has more dreams, she sings and learns exactly when the rocket will land. But she talks in her sleep, and her husband hears her. Her husband makes her stay inside while he "goes hunting," taking with him a gun . -
The Summer Night
One night in August of 1999, all over Mars, people begin to sing Earth musics and to have strange dreams. Musicians begin to play Earth musics. -
The Earth Men
The next morning, Earth men land, directed by Captain Williams. They go from house to house, saying that they are from Earth, anybody believe them. They find that they can communicate with the Martians by telepathy. Then they realised that they were in an asylum because they said they were from Earth. Mr. Xxx is a psychologist shoots Williams and is horrified to see that his "hallucinations" remain. Mr. Xxx assumes that he, has hallucintion too, so he shoots the rest of the crew and himself. -
The Taxpayer
A man runs to the launchpad, demanding as a good citizen (taxpayer) to be on the third trip to Mars because an atomic war is coming. Then he is arrested. -
The Third Expedition
On Mars, the crew of 16 men found a small American town.Captain Black is skeptical, but Hinkston is sure that they are in paradise. During the exploration, members of the crew begin to meet different died members of their families. Black finds the home of his parents. He stay to sleep in bed with his brother,then he realized that it is probably a Martian trap.He tries to escape,but his brother stops him.He dies screaming.The next morning,the faces of the families started to look like Martian. -
And the Moon Be Still as Bright
A year later,a fourth expedition lands.The crew's physician,reports that almost all Martians have died of chicken pox,Captain Wilder lets his men drink,but this angers the archaeologist in the crew,Spender. When Biggs,another member of the crew, becomes very drunk and goes to throw bottles,Spender hits him in the mouth.He deserts the crew and begins to explore the Martian ruins.Spender kills all the member of the crew except Wilder who decided to kill him because he wants to try to protect Mars -

The Green Morning
Benjamin Driscoll is a settler. Upon arrival, he had trouble breathing, so he made it his personal mission to plant oxygen-producing trees. He rides a motorcycle and plants seeds wherever he goes, but he doesn't know if they'll grow. One morning in December, after it finally rains, he turns around and sees that the landscape is now covered with green. -
The Locusts
By February of 2002, a lot of rockets are landing on Mars. A dozen towns have sprung up, little Americas. -
Night Meeting
One night in August, Toma's Gomez is driving to a party. He stops at a filling station, where an old man talks about how much he likes Mars. As Gomez drives on, he thinks of how the air looks and smells. A Martian by the name of Muhe Ca dismounts talk with Toma Gomez but soon find that they cannot touch each other, as if they were both ghosts. Also, the Martian is headed to a giant festival in a town that looks deserted and ruined. -
The Shore
By October of 2002, wave upon wave of settlers is hitting Mars. The first was rough and built to build homes where there was nothing, but the second wave comes from the cities. Still, all the settlers come from America. -
The Fire Baloons
Priests arrive on Mars. They learn that among the rare surviving Martians there are some presenting themselves as spheres of blue light, which would have saved the life of a settler in the hills. Father Peregrine wishes to meet these Martians and convert them. But when he finally meet them, he realizes that these creatures live in harmony and do not need him. -
Interim
Wood is brought to build the houses from a city .They look like American towns. -

Children are playing music with the bones of the Martian who died during the chicken pox period -
Way Up In The Middle Of The Air
Back on Earth, in 2003, a group of white men are sitting on the porch of a store. News has come that all the Negroes in the American South have to emigrate to Mars. They have built their own rockets. One of the men on the porch, Mr. Teece, tries to stop Belter a negro, who owes him $50, but the crowd pay for him. The other men, force Teece to let him go. Teece grabs his rifle and goes in a car to chase after the exodus. On the way, he notices bundles of their possessions left behind. -

Many things are named on Mars after the men have came. People are comming to regulate life on Mars. -

The Martian
LaFarge and his wife Anna are living on Mars but their son Tom is deceased.One night Tom appears the couple are not believing taht is real.In another family the parents have lost their daughter and this same night she appears.At the end Tom dies because everybody was running after him to see him transforming in close deceased friend or family. -
The Luggage Store
A priest and a luggage seller are saying taht an atomic war is comming on Earth and that all the people will buy a luggage to go away from Earth. -
The Off Season
Sam Parkhill has opened a hot dog stand on Mars.He is very proud of him.One day he shoot a Martian because he was scared of them.The friend of this deceased Martian decided to kill Sam, chasing him with sand boats.Sam broked one sand boat but he decided to surrender.At the end Sam knew that the Martian only wanted to talk to him. -
The Watchers
On Mars people are watching the planet Earth burning they received a message from Earth explaining that London and Los Angeles have been bombed. And that Australia have benn destroyed. -
The Silent Towns
Mars has been evacuated.Walter Gripp is living in the mountains alone.He decided to go to an empty city.One night he hears a phone call but he missed the call.So he decided to call all the number on the phone book.Genevieve Selsor answer and he decided to meet her.Finally he founds her but she is fat and she looks everytime the same movie that he is obliged to see.When she she shows him her weeding dress he decided to run away .He goes to a place where anyone can disturb him. -
The Long Years
Hataway lives on Mars with his wife and his three children.He suffer from loneliness.That night a rocket arrived on Mars.In this rocket there was Captain Wilder and Williamson.Hataway celebrate their arrive.Wilder does not understand why the family is young and that Hataway is old so he sent Williamson to investigate.He discovered that his family was made of robots.His real family was dead killed by a virus.When Hataway knew that Wilder discover this secret he had a heart attack and died. -
There Will Come Soft Rains
In California, a fully-automated house announces that it is time to wake up.But the house is empty.Breakfast is automatically made, but there is no one to eat it.The rest of the city has been destroyed with a nuclear bomb.On that night a tree falls on the hous causing a fire destroying all the house. -
The Million-Year Picnic
A rocket lands on Mars. It carries a husband and wife and three boys. They have a lot of food.They went on a canal in a boat to find a place to live.Suddenly, they hear an explosion, as their rocket self-destructs. The Dad explains that he has brought them away from Earth to start a new life on Mars. The next day, the Edwards family arrive with their daughters, and together they will start a new life. The Dad lets his boys pick out a city to live.
