    This battle took place as basically the start of the norman conquest of england. this battle was fought between the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and the English army under King Harold II. Legend says King Harold II was shot in the eye during the battle. In the ened the normans one and duke william II of normandy became the first norman king of england. although some there was some english resistance it is said to be the last major battle.
