  • The whiskey rebellion

    The rebellion started when the taxes on whiskey went up. Nobody was happy about it. Until 1794, George Washington rode to Western Pennsylvania with 13,000 troops and stopped the rebellion. The Whiskey Rebellion ended on November 11, 1794.

    The exact date is unknown, but in the year 1796, both political parties have formed by then. Alexander Hamilton was a federalist which formed in 1787, and Thomas Jefferson was an anti-federalist, also known as Democratic-Republican, which formed in 1796.

    The exact date is unknown, but the movement began around 1800 and it started to take off by 1820. The Second Great Awakening began because of the religious views of people, and more religions were becoming known.

    When George Washington was president he first chose Philedeliphia to be the nation's captial but later because of issues with the placement, he chose Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) to hold the title of the nation's capital.

    On August 7, 1807, Robert Fulton went from New York to Albany in only 32 hours. He was the first person to build a commercial steamboat that was successful.

    The Louisiana Purchase was bought by America from France. Thomas Jefferson was president at the time and he purchased the states to improve trade in America. France sold the states for $15 million. (42 cents an acre.)

    The beginning of abolishing slavery in the northern states started in 1777 and when all the northern states had abolished slavery it was 1804. The exact date is unknown.

    The National Road was started by the federal government who wanted to build a road that started from Baltimore, Maryland and reached all the way through West Virginia. The Construction started in 1811 but the month and the day is unknown, and it was completed in 1834.
  • The U.S. signs a peace treaty with the British

    With the War of 1812, the Treaty of Ghent settled the conflict. The United States and Great Britain decided to settle their conflicts and they signed the treaty on December 24, 1814.
  • The Missouri Compromise

    Since there had to be a balance between slave states and free states, the Missouri compromise helped even it out. Missouri became a slave state and Maine became a free state.
