First Constitution
Contained a little over 6,000 words, had only 8 articles, and 106 sections. Remained unedited until 1851, when it was replaced. -
Second Constitution
50% ( or 5.5 times)longer than first constitution with 9,447 words, 16 articles, 168 sections. Today it contains over 50,000 words (10th longest state constitution in the U.S.). Constitutions growth worry some that state may be creating too much policy and legislature. -
Third Constitution
Voted to be adoptedor not by 1873-74 Constitutional Convention. Contains around 15,000 words. Was overwhelming rejected due to being too 'complex' and having 'too much legislation'. -

The most words were added to the Ohio constitution by amendment in teh 1910's due to 1912 Constitutional Convention. 6,502 words and 40 amendments were added. -
