    Black Tuesday is the day that the worst stock market crash happened. It is called Black Tuesday because it happened on October 29, 1929 which was a tuesday. Many people were layed off because no one had money to pay for the employees. Black Tuesday brought some many Canadians to the streets.

    The 1930 Federal Election had W.L. Mackenzie King's Liberals and R.B. Bennett's Conservatives against eachother. The Prime Minister was to save us from our depression. The votes came back and R..B Bennett had won. One of his "plans" was to send money to people who sent him letters saying how their life is like

    On To Ottawa Trek and Regina Riots

    R.B. Bennett made Relief Camps that gave workers 20 cents/day for young men. These men thought this pay should be higher as they worked diffucult jobs. Most of the men working at these camps went to protest in Ottawa. This was called the On-To-Ottawa Trek. The RCMP stopped them at Regina. Riots had started with 2 deaths (a police officer and a protester) and many injured.

    Women and chidren worked in Canada while the war was happening in Europe. People worked on farms making food. People also worked in factories, that were either made or taken over, to make weapons. We perserved food and other needs in many different ways.

    The Raid of Dieppe
    The Raid of Dieppe was a battle in which the Allied powers went and tried to take back the land of Dieppe, France from Nazi Germany. They sent out 6,100 troops, about 81% of those troops were Canadian. The British and American troops made up the other 19%. Out of the 6,100 troops, 3,367 had died. The Raid of Dieppe was a "Bloody Massacre"

    Nuremburg Trials

    The Nuremburg Trials was where the Nazi soldiers who did war crimes were put to trial. It gets it name because it happened in Nuremburg, Germany. Nazi soldiers or leaders that did horrible crimes were put up. Many sentences came out, some were hanged and some were even sentenced to life in prison.
