    The Underground Railroad was a secret network used to help slaves escape and reach Canada so that way they could be free. Slaves finally reached Canada and were free from any slavery.

    Everyday, thousands of African Americans worked all day and hardley got any money to spare. Sometimes they were whipped, or beaten up by the slave owners. After hundreds of years of torchure, the slaves decided to fight for their freedom. Usually, a slave would work on the crops, or harvest the crops. But, there were many othey ways that slaves were mistreated. Many slaves came to America with their children. The children were also forced to work once they turned six years old.

    In 1820, Missouri is admitted to be a slave state to the Union, and Maine as a free state. Slavery is then forbidden in any subsequent territories that are north of latitude, 36d/30.

    Harriet Tubman was one of the slaves who planned to use the Underground Railroad in order to reach freedom. Harriet, along with 300 other slaves traveled using the Underground Railroad in order to reach Canada.

    In exchange for California being a free state from slavery, the north congressmen accept a much harsher Fugitive Slave Act that is much different then the one of 1793.

    Ignoring the Missouri Compromise, the Congress permits that the Kansas and Nebraska territories are allowed to choose whether to allow or not allow slavery. Violent events occur afterwards.

    After along travel using the Underground Railroad, all the slaves finally made it to Canda. Beaten down and hungry, thousands of runaway slaves cheered with hapiness once they finally had freedom!

    No More Slavery
    Slavery is finally over and all the slaves are freed from slavery. Slavery then becomes outlawed, and any person who owned a slave or slaves would go to jail. People let their slaves go, and most of the slaves went up into Canada to join their family and friends who manged to escape before.
