The university of GA was chartered in 1785 and the land site was created in 1784 the person who founded UGA was Abraham Baldwin. He was elected president for the university, in order for this plan of a new university (uga) They set aside 40,000 acres of land. -
Yazoo land fraud 1789
The Yazoo land fraud was caused by legislatures being bribed into selling 35 to 50 million acres of land to the 3 land companies They paid 500,000 dollars to the legislators per acer. legislatures had to vote in order to see if they were to agree to see if they r going to sell their land. -
