    Operation Ranchhand was mean to clear vegetation alongside highways. This would make it harder for the Vietcong to conceal themselves during ambushes. This war has been very hard for Americans so far because of the unfamiliar land. The forest was sprayed with "Agent Orange" and eventually guerrilla trails and bases were exposed.
