    Vietnamese forces came into the French command post and the French orders them to cease fire. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and this battle lasted 55 days. thousands of French Troops were killed, with thousands more wounded. In the end the Vietnamese became victorious over france after this war had ended, resulting in their celebration.

    Right before the presidental election, Bien Hoa Air Base near Saigon, Vietcong mortars shelled that base. 4 americans were killed with more than 70 wounded. At least five B-57 bombers were destroyed and another 15 damaged.

After this, President Johnson issues orders of immediate importance by having U.S. Navy fighter-bombers attack military targets inside North Vietnam.

    In a hotel in Qui Nonh 23 American servicemen were killed by an Vietcong placed bomb explosion. the significance of this is knowing that Americans at this time were not safe at all. They were going to do whatever they possibly can kill Americans.

    Battle of La Drang
    The Barrle of La Drang started with the North Vietnamese Army attacked a Special Forces camp at Plei Mei. the U.S. 1st Air Calvary is sent against them creating this battle. This last for 35 days creating Battle of La Drang that lasted from November 14th to the 18th in 1965.

    Being one of the largest air-moible assaults, 240 helicopters come over Tay Ninh province. This operation was called Junction City. the idea of Operation Junction city was to destroy Vietcong bases and the military headquarters. This last 72 days and thousands of men injured.

    Operation Rolling thunder started three and a half years ago on February 13th, 1965. On this day it comes to an end. 818 pilots were either dead or missing while hundreds more were in captivity.

    On this day, President Nixon resigns from office. This leaves South Vietnam without an advocate for the upcoming events that happen throughout next year of the Vietnam War. The importance of this is the U.S. pulling out of the war.

    The War is Finally Over
    North Vietnamese tanks came into Saigon, ending the war. Within this 15 year span of fighting a quarter of a million South Vietnamese soldiers died along with thousands of civilians.
