James Monroe 5th U.S president
James was re-elected to be the new president in 1820 with a considerable lead to the others. -
U.S purchased Florida from Spain
It wasnt really a purchase instead it was part of the Adam Ornis Treaty of 1819 but we did pay a total of five million dollars on risident claims. -

The monroe doctrine stated that any interference from other nations would be seen as an act of aggression requiring us intervention while at the same time stating that the U.S wouldn't interfere with the existing europeans colonies -

This law allowed the president to negotiate with southern indian tribes to move into federal territory west of the mississippi in exchange for their homeland.
