  • The Proclamation

    The Proclamation
    The proclamation was from Great Britain that was made to hold the expansion past the Appalachians mountains. They did this for two reasons to keep the people from expanding and reputing the acts and laws back in place. Also they need ways to make money from having a lot of debt after the seven year war. This led to the end of the salutary neglect and brought out more harsh acts like the quartering act of 1765.
  • Sugar act

    Sugar act
    This act was an actual decrease on the molasses tax and trying to stop smuggling of sugar. The colonist did not follow nor like the act from people like John Hancock who had made his business out of smuggling molasses and had a voice able to convince others not to follow the act. Also people thought of this as paying for the British government. This would lead to more people dislike the acts given from Britain but to also protest and not follow the acts given to them.

    The Quartering Act of 1765 made it so people had to allow them to come inside their house and to also take care of the soldiers like food and water. The thing that people hated was that it allowed the soldiers to take tabs on people who hate or support the king. Also people hated this act for feeling the British had invaded their privacy without any kind of "Representation on what they think about this act". This would cause a lot of conflict with the people leading to the "Boston Massacre".

    This act put many taxes on glass,wood and even other items that colonists would import to other countries. This may seem like a normal act but this was a leading cause for people to fight back. Rich colonists Samuel Adams and John Hancock began to move the other colonists with all the social and financial power.

    The Boston Massacre happens when people started to attack soldier post near a building with snowball with rocks and the soldiers defended themselves killing five people. The people around were able to create a painting that angered or made their view on the British sky rocket from how the painting should how many troops fired into the crowd. In reality there were only a few troops. People began to become more weary and wanted to be heared. This was also an leading cause for Independence.

    During the time that Samuel Adams and other radical patriots continued to warn Americans of the British empire. When the British officials threatened to take the american homes the Virginia House and other assemblies set the committees of correspondence to have a network of quick discussion of the new developments. This led to Americans to talk about independence and even later they would declare independence.

    When the tea tax was introduced the sons of liberty had gotten on boats of tea and threw about 342 chests of tea into the harbor. They did this to kind of go against the Tea act of 1773 that the British put in. This led to two things 1) This was somewhat of the start of Americans beginning to resist and Boycott against the British. 2) The British began to act harder on the Americans with their soldiers.

    The Coercive acts had forced Massachusetts to pay for all the damage or lost tea in the harbor and submit to British imperial authority and this really was hated from the colonists/Americans. It also brought out many other acts like government act and worst of all a new Quartering. This led to more colonist to boycott but also led to Patriot leaders in the northern colonies to lead an open rebellion against these.

    The Battle of bunker hill was that of Massachusetts defying British rule like the coercive acts. This was a very bloody battle from the colonists having the ground advantage but this also showed the advantage of British troops that the British government could just shoot out against the limited resource of supplies and men of the colonists. Even though the colonists were defeated this showed that colonists had the ability to fight against the British.

    Thomas Paine's Common sense
    After the intense fighting in and around Boston, Thomas Paine had written the Common sense that brought emotional and government questions in the pamphlet. This pamphlet had a rousing call for both independence and a republican form of government. Paine had begun to assault the British tradition and the way they have acted against the Colonists. This was one of or even is the reason the second continental congress had created the declaration of independence.

    The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the American revolution and in many ways was very important to the Americans. 1) The Americans were able to capture 10,000 British troops.2) In this battle the american colonists used the field advantages to win against the British using a reverse pierce techniques on the British. 3) This led Benjamin Franklin to final of the opening to get the French on their side against the British.

    During the time before the battle of saratoga Benjamin Franklin was in France trying to get the help of the French army. The Fence did really want revenge against the British from the seven year war but did not feel like they could win with the American colonists. After the news of the victory of Saratoga France saw the opportunity to beat the British and they joined the war with the Americans. The most important was that French gave Navy to the american colonists.

    when General Cornwallis had a plan to retreat to the coast of Yorktown for thinking that all the British navy would be there to help him. The thing that he did not know was the all the navy was actually France navy waiting and George Washington kind knew about this. This caused Cornwallis to be blocked off and he had to surrender but also cause the world of the British to be turned upside down. This led to the end of the British attacks and had to sign a treaty with the American colonists.

    In 1783 the revolutionary war had officially come to an end. This gave american two things out of this and the first was American are granted all British lands between the Atlantic ocean and the Mississippi river to the United states of america. 2) This would also lead to French being eternal friends to the Americans( that really never happend when french was in trouble). This would also lead to America being able to grew and focus on building their own government and economy.

    The shay rebellion was an uprising led by mostly farmers in the western Massachusetts. The reason they began to rebel was that the articles of confederation and the economic downfall that caused workers not to be paid or being unfairly being taxed. This rebellion lasted pretty long and was put down from Samuel Adams creating his own military of troops. This had show the HUGE mistakes and failers that the articles of confederation had made and would soon led to the creating of a new constitution.

    The Northwest ordinance was the only really good thing that came out of the articles of confederation. This was good for a couple of reasons and first was "it made america pregnant" meaning that this provided settlements and help create Indiana,Illinois,Michigan and Wisconsin. the second part was that all the new settlements had abolished slavery and this didn't mean they began to stop slavery but this was a begging to start limiting slavery. Also gave more opportunity for new settlements.

This had been brought to congress and many people both federalist and anti-federalists both deciding what to create with the book. With James Madison's help and other they created amendments to help people later in life. This also was a foundation block for people who need help with government things later in life.

    The Judiciary act was the act of establishing federal district courts in each state with three levels of court systems. The Judiciary Act did help with taking account of the serving the low level courts system for low kind of cases. This also gave the chance for case to be brought up to the supreme court like in the future people with serious cases may lose in lower courts but in the supreme court win or the opposite happen.

This would lead to Jefferson going against it

    The Bill of rights was the first of the ten amendments to the constitution from the Federalist promising to add it from when they were ratifying the constitution. These amendments really helped the anti-federalists by giving safeguarded fundamentals like freedom of speech,traits and religious ways. These also help with counter acting against the federalist national power. These question of freedom were repeatedly contested until the Civil war and still remain hugely important today.

This was a major important moment because President Washington was able to go over himself and put down the rebellion. This treaty was mostly in place from the French Revolution and the British began to take american ships and their goods. This led to more and more conflict between Americans and the British.

    These Acts were made to limit the individual rights and threatened the Fledgling party system. These acts were mostly used to 1) lengthen the residency of becoming a US citizen 2) Authorized the deportation of foreigners 3) The worst one allowed people to be arrested for insulting congress or the president. This would lead to Jefferson and other news to fight against it leading to Jefferson winning to become president and the people supporting him through their hate of these acts.

    These was an easy victory from him from people going against the federalists in the house mostly from the Acts they made in the past and even Jefferson rival Hamilton supported Jefferson. Jefferson was at the beginning a good president because he focused on putting on a more agrarian culture in the government. Also Jefferson was very constructive meaning he followed the constitution and disliked the change of this. This would lead to problems for Jefferson later down in the years for changing.

    This was the problem major against Jefferson because it was a battle against his ideas from expanding new land. The purchase was when french and gave the west territory of the Mississippi river from the gulf of mexico to Canada. This gave two things from one major advantage and one disadvantage. The first was the American size would be double the size from this purchase. This had caused Jefferson to think because he had to exercise his powers but that was not in the constitution.

This was very bad for the US because this had weakened the US economy and cut off 5 percent of all money made from this. On the other hand this actually help US in later years from it causing more industrialization to be made even though that was the opposite of what Jefferson wanted. This also caused people to dislike Jefferson from this.

    This was a battle between the natives and Americans because the natives were fighting and killing Americans with guns. The Americans had enough and attacked were most of the Shawnee Indians lived and killed many people in the so called holy villages. The important part was that the British had been supplying the natives with supplies and guns to fight against the American hopping they could win. This would lead to major conflict once again between America and Britian.

    This war came from Britain supporting the natives that were attacking american settlements. This war was pretty one side from Britain having all its forces from already defeated Napoleon forces. This led to the white house being burned and states suffering from lots of defeats and even more national debt raising it about to 127 million dollars in debt. Thanks to Britain for not having the resources and money wanted in peace.

    The treaty of Ghent was a very lucky moment for the US because the only if not for it the British would have taken the land back. The reason the British didn't advance was from their resources,wealth and energy being very low from using it against Napoleon forces. Another reason why this was important was it took forever to spread. This would lead to General Andrew Jackson becoming very popular for defeating a British army because the treaty could not get there in time.

Clay had come when the union was near breaking ( he would do this many times later throughout the years) and create the Missouri Compromise. This actually helps without the time from allowing the time for the balance of both free and southern. Until Later when more land and states were found this compromise would no longer work anymore.

On the other hand Adams did create many scientific exploration but Henry and Adams did create a fairly unpopular tariff and people began to hate and support Jackson from all this.

Also led to a perfect opportunity for Jackson to get a spot of being the president.

This caused plantation owners to be more harsh or watchful of their slaves to make sure they dont rebel.

Jackson and the Jacksonian's had little care and even challenged the court saying to act on it but Jackson still continued with his army to remove the Cherokee people. This led to the Trail of tears from Jackson not stopping from what the court said.

In reality Lincoln wanted to regain the union then freeing slave during this time.
