Mouth tries to commit suicide.
Mouth visits Scott at night, to give him money that he owes him for lunch. Then the next day he is not in school. The school narrows it down to attempted suicide. (P. 197) -
Wesley is sympathetic towards Mouth.
Scott is riding home from school with Wesley. Then Wesley starts talking about Mouth's attempt of ending his life, then Scott is fearing that Wesley will make a Joke, but then he is relieved when Wesley acts sympathetic and tells Scott about how it is a bad thing. (P. 204) -
Wesley has a disagreement with other people and Scott tries to help him.
Wesley Jumps out of the car and confronts a group of kids, then Scott fears for Wesley and hops out of the car and stands next to Wesley. (P. 217) -
Bobby admits to not being able to read.
Bobby admits to not being able to read his whole life. He tells Scott on how he never told Mom and Dad about it and just blended into the crowd. (P. 225) -
Scott got in a fight with Kyle.
Scott tries to approach Kyle, but it turns out in a fight. Kyle loses to Scott badly and it is resolved that Kyle was the person who wrote "Freaky B!t*h" on Lee's locker. (P. 227) -
Scott misunderstands Lee about going to the Dance.
Scott goes up to Lee and does not think that she was Being serious about going to the dance. Lee got her heartbroken and walked away. (Pg. 241) -
Kelly leads Scott into a trap and feels bad for him because it wasn't meant to hurt him as bad as it did.
Kelly tries to convince Scott that Julia wants to go to the dance with him. But when Scott walks in he is ambushed by Vernon and Kyle. (P. 231) -
Scott tries to make up with Lee by giving her the valentines chocolate that he bought a long time ago.
Scott walks up to lee in the hallway and gives her the chocolate and she takes it and walks away, without saying anything. (P. 254) -
Scott is sad after Julia talks to Kelly about not having a chance with her.
Scott is eavesdropping into Kelly and Julia's conversation in English and hears that Julia thinks that Scott has no chance with her. (P. 251) -
Lee looks different.
Scott goes to Lee's house the night of the dance, he is amazed to find her without the pins in her face and her hair dyed black. He feels bad that he made fun of her so much and he died his hair red, which Lee was actually kind of amused from. (P. 264) -
The Dance
Scott finally dances with Julia and is so happy that his dream finally came true. (P. 270)
