Missouri Compromise
To keep the states equal they created a line. Anything North would be free, and anything South would be slave. This line decided whose state would go. -
Compromise of 1850
Bills were passed to calm down the feud between North and South. Which passed 5 bills. -
Fugitive Slave Act
This was to catch all of the African-American slaves that were running away to the North. If caught get paid. Judges get $10 for charging and $5 for setting free. -

Was a book about anti-slavery. The book was written by a European woman and explained the evils of slavery. -
Kansas-Nebraska Act
It repealed the Missouri compromise and came back to popular sovereignty. And created feuds about territory. -
Dred Scott case
Moved to a free state and moved back while some people helped him sue because they claimed to move made him a free man. The end of the case was lost because they said slaves were property, not people. -
John Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry
The raid of John Brown who was an abolitionist. In the end, he was faced with charges of murder and treason. -
Election of 1860
An election where the South took Abraham Lincoln off their ballots because he was against slavery. In the end, Abraham won but did nothing about slavery. -
South Carolina Secedes
The first state to secede and break off, with many to lead afterward.
