  • Navigation Act

    Navigation Act
    This act stated that only English ships can be used to transport to the colonies. This act was not fully enforced until 1760. The Colonists mostly ignored the law and smuggled products from Britain. The British were not happy with the smuggling and did not make enough money so they passed the Sugar Act.   • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act put taxes on all imports of sugar, coffee and wine.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was a law that required a stamp of tax on everything that was bought. Some of these things that were taxed were paper,dice and cards.
    The Colonists were upset over the new law. The Colonists would attack British tax collectors and would boycott the taxed items.

  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act was passed to repeal the Stamp Act. This act stated that the British had the authority to make laws for the colonies. The Colonists were happy that the Stamp Act was gone, although they were still upset that the British had rule over the colonies The British were mad about getting rid of the Stamp Act but still felt like they had power over the colonies with the Declaratory Act.   • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This act was made to put taxes paints, silk, tea. The money from these taxes was used to pay British Generals. The Colonists were upset and sent petition letters to the King.
