Solomon: On The Way To Freedom: 1853
Event: The event here is where Solomon finally makes his way to Freedom, of being a free man. This includes a conversation between Solomon and Tibeats, discussing the freedom ride for Solomon. FACT: The movie was really similar to the actual book, the movie itself was accurate in general. Connection: There is still racism and hatred between whites and blacks in 2020, which is sickening and uncalled for. I despise racism. Rating: ★★★☆☆. I give this a 3 out of 5; due to racism and torture involved -
Lincoln's Second Term
EVENT - It's January of 1865; Where President Lincoln gets his second term in office.
FACT - It reads that in March of 1865, it's where Lincoln gets his term in office, not the month January. So, it's 2 months off in the movie.
Connection - Today, we learn about Lincoln in this very school; and how he impacted our lives as president respect to him, there is no more slavery.
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . To be honest; I loved the scenery of the movie, it was an aesthetic and I loved how the actors were true. -
The Lost Battalion - 1990
EVENT - The fact-based story of an Allied battalion hemmed in deep behind enemy lines during World War I. FACT CHECK - The movie happened in 1990, while the actual event happened in 1918. CONNECTION - There are still modern day problems going on. RATING - ⭐ ⭐ (I just didn't like the actual movie.) -
Avalon The Movie
EVENT - While Sam Krichinsky (Armin Mueller-Stahl) establishes roots in the city and finds a wife (Joan Plowright), his ambitious son, Jules (Aidan Quinn), who changes his last name to Kaye, tries to live the American Dream by opening an appliance store, revealing cultural and generational gaps. FACT CHECK - The real Julius "Jules" Kaye, Michael's father ran a delicatessen and catering service in Baltimore in the '60s and '70s and wasn't portrayed in the film. CONNECT - NONE RATING - ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ -

EVENT - The film opens with Tom Joad (Henry Fonda), released from prison and hitchhiking his way back to his parents' family farm in Oklahoma. Fact Check - THE 1940 MOVIE VERSION WAS A BOX-OFFICE SMASH. Connection - I connect by there are still racial problems in today's society. RATING: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐, why? Because of the scenery, sometimes I enjoy old black and white movies. -
